The Delphinus kicks ass. I should know, I've helmed her a few times on my GameCube. This looks like pencil art (though I could be wrong) but it came out very well. I can discern a lot of details, such as the anchor, the torpedo hatches, the lookout tower, the top deck section where you fight aboard ship and the curves of the forward hull. One thing that strikes me as odd though is the background. Are those clouds of sky rifts that the Delphius is flying through? I can't tell. By the way? How'd it do at the Teen Arts Festival? You said it was "pretty kickin'" but that's a bit vague. Did you win any awards? Get any encouraging comments from viewers? Well, I'm glad I found this. The Delphinus is quite a craft, a remarkable departure from other RPG ships, and there are this is the only very good pic I've seen of it.
Wow, I always appreciate these kinds of comments. Yes, this was done with an average-joe No. 2 pencil, remarkably enough. I have a terrible tendency to just have at things, and they turn out like this. THe ship' just supposed to be knifing through a random lower cloud layer on Arcadia. This wasn't an entered piece or anything, but I recieved a bit of acclaim from a few of my peers after I showed it to them.
I'm glad to be told that my work does the ship justice, both in terms of reference and mood. My hat goes off. :]
Ah, so it's gotten good marks? Excellent. Also, with the background, it's probably not a problem. My eyesight is so-so and thus I sometimes have trouble discerning certain details. Regardless, I think you've done great here and I hope other Skies of Arcadia pics are likely. If you're interested I might have some suggestions that you might find interesting. I also hope you'll drop by my page and read some of the original fiction I've put up. Talk to you later.
